DESCRIPTION: APW - Waltham, Vanguard with winding indicator, Model 1892, 21J, 18S, gold-filled OF recase with superb engraving including a bird in flight and floral detail, white enamel triple-sunk dial, SW-LS, lever escapement with capped escape wheel, jeweled barrel, diamond endstone, checkerboard center pattern nickel damascene, s#17077028.
CONDITION: Mvt: Running, good winding indicator function, excellent-plus cosmetic mvt condition overall, bright lustrous plates, fine scratch at signature, some marring to balance jewel setting and surround, few tiny specks of oxide to regulator assembly and winding wheels; dial with patched chip at 7 with some fill material on adjacent area of seconds-register, small patched chip at lower portion of sunken portion of winding indicator register, scattered hls, few scattered small fractures; winding indicator hand missing its tip, hands otherwise excellent; case shows little wear, no dents or dings, excellent engraving detail, strips of wear to brass to high points of pendant and reeding of band, tiny sliver of wear to brass to portion of raised lip at outermost perimeter of rear, case with extra lever slot at 2; tight bow, crown shows medium wear; good glass crystal.
